Human need for development and progress has taken its toll on environment over the years. Since industrial era started taking roots across nations, pollution and energy have been key issues. Today, we cannot go back to the pre-industrial stage, but, what we can do is to minimize the damages and individually feel responsible to control pollution of environment and its resources. We have installed the state-of-the-art stack, ambient air and water monitoring systems at various locations in the complex to monitor various parameters of environmental quality on continuous basis so that if anything goes wrong timely corrective actions can be taken.

 

ESPs, bag filters, scrubbers, dry fog systems etc have been installed to maintain chimney emissions well within the norms. This helps us to maintain healthy environment in and around the complex.

 
  • BOD plant in Cokeoven-2:

    A Coke plant generates effluent which has peculiar contaminants like phenol, free cyanide and ammonical nitrogen, etc; besides BOD and COD. In order to treat this effluent rightly, world class technology has been adopted at our plants which has been supplied by a reputed German firm. The treated effluent is reused back in the plant for other processes, thus maintaining the zero discharge status


  • Effluent treatment plants (ETP):

    Effluent treatment plants have been established throughout the complex to treat the effluent and recycle it and get it back in to the process or some other use. As we do not discharge anything outside the plant complex.


  • Fly Ash Brick Plant:

    Fly Ash is generated from power plant due to coal burning. We have 3 fly ash brick plants to make fly ash bricks. In our complex, for all construction work only fly ash bricks are used. This is an eco-friendly measure to reuse waste from processes.


  • Mine Void Ash Disposal:

    Fly Ash disposal is one of the major threats that industries all over world are facing. Fly ash is generated due to coal burning in power plants. We are disposing our ash into mine void at Talcher and ensure 100% utilization as per prescribed norms.


  • Acid Regeneration plant:
